I am a Senior Applications Engineer at FormAlloy Technologies, Inc. My past research runs an interesting gamut, yet is all connected through additive manufacturing (AM). It spans investigating predictions of mechanical properties in ceramic-metal composites through numerical homogenization, to optimizing heat treatment schedules in LPBF AlSi10Mg, embedding sensors in metal components through DED, all the way to machine learning and even some thermal management work with CubeSats. Currently, I am investigating in-situ process monitoring and how to couple those insights to robust process control within the DED space. More broadly, I am interested in emergent phenomenon/behavior, synchronicity, and optimization.
